Organizing 101: How to Start a Group workshop at D.O.S.E. Artist Collective
TODAY 6:00 PM · D.O.S.E. Artist Collective
Join us this Thursday for Organizing 101: How to Start a Group, a hands-on 2.5-hour workshop designed to help you build people power and kickstart a grassroots team right where you live. No previous organizing experience needed—just bring your passion and your ideas! We’re combining two powerful, community-centered methods—Sociocracy and La Resolana—to teach you how to build a grassroots team rooted in self-governance, meaning the group leads itself from the ground up, not from the top down. With a Master’s in Education, an MFA in Creative Writing, and a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management, Petra Salazar brings a unique blend of pedagogical depth, strategic storytelling, and operational rigor to community leadership. Backed by a decade of hands-on experience in nonprofit operations, Petra specializes in building sustainable systems, fostering meaningful engagement, and leading mission-driven initiatives that turn vision into lasting impact. DATE: Thursday, Oct 22, 2026 TIME: 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM LOCATION: D.O.S.E. Artist Collective, 606 Trade St NW, Winston-Salem, NC 27101 RSVP Required: www.philopoetics.com/events
